Grand Prix Go Walkthrough

Grand Prix Go is a fast-paced car racing game presented from an isometric perspective. This racing game features great isometric graphics, which are a fresh change from the typical top-down, two-dimensional visuals that are featured in most games of this type. The audio experience is also pleasurable; the music is fitting and properly-tuned, and the sound effects make it sound like you are witnessing a real life Formula 1 race! As can be expected from turboNuke, this wonderfully-designed racing game contains a plethora of achievements and upgrades to add to the replay value.

Grand Prix Go also features numerous upgrades that can be bought between races using money earned by placing well in each race. The engine upgrade increases your car's top speed and acceleration. Buying the boost upgrade allows you to activate your boost, while each additional level increases the boost's performance. The brake upgrade improves your car's ability to brake, while the grip, the downforce improves your ability to turn tight corners, and the grip upgrade reduces skidding on the track. I advise buying the boost upgrade as soon as possible, since it will help you to overtake your opponents. The downforce is also a useful upgrade for turning corners, since wide turns will certainly put you at a disadvantage. The engine upgrade proves useful in later races, when opponents become more difficult, but this is the most-expensive upgrade, and can be saved for later.

Grand Prix Go offers three modes for each track: Practice, Qualify, and Race. Practice mode lets you practice the controls and get a feel for the track. This mode also allows you to race against your personal best lap record. Beating this time will earn an achievement.

The Qualify mode of Grand Prix Go gives you three laps to set the best qualifying time that you can in competition against ten computer-controlled racers. The better your time, the better starting position you are given in the race.

The final mode is the Race mode, which is the main mode of the game, and the only necessary mode. I do advise playing the qualifying mode so that you do not begin the race at the back of the starting grid. This mode pits you against ten AI-controlled racers. As can be expected, the AI racers have the advantage of navigating the track with great ease, but this advantage can be offset by purchasing upgrades for your car and using your boost. The computer can be beaten, and with patience and diligence, you will find yourself placing first in every race!

Grand Prix Go is a racing game with a lot to offer. This is not a game that you want to pass up!
